Dear SUKA member

There are a limited number of tickets given to Singapore as a participating country in the London 2012 Olympics. These tickets are administered by the Singapore Sports Council which is the national body overseeing sports activities of and the attendance by Singaporeans at the London Olympics.

The SSC has kindly allocated some tickets for SUKA 2012 members who are CURRENT Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents to watch our Singapore sportspersons compete in those events that they have qualified for. The nationality or residence of the current SUKA 2012 member is a stipulation of the London Olympic Organising Committee as these tickets are provided FREE but to the national sports body of the participating nation. The tickets are meant only for the citizens of the participating nation for the support of their country's sportspersons. This is a strict condition for which SUKA is unfortunately unable to influence nor to negotiate on. Also, the tickets once issued to your name cannot be transferred as security checks will be conducted at the Games venues to match identities with ticket holders. This is to prevent ticket touting.

Enclosed is a timetable of the events that the SSC is giving away tickets for. Please look through carefully and decide which game, date and timing slot you wish to have a ticket for. Only one ticket per time slot per day per person. Please DO NOT APPLY for your family as a group. Each family member has to supply the details as requested on the timetable enclosed.

As SUKA and the SSC is working to a tight time schedule to submit the names and tickets required, we are afraid that any incomplete submission of your details ( such as your NRIC number or Singapore address etc) will make your request for tickets VOID. Also, you need to be current 2012 SUKA member and we will check against our membership rolls for this fact. We do not have the time to come back to you for amendments and further details.

Requests must be emailed to president@suka.org before SATURDAY 5 May 2012 , 12 noon.

All tickets are given FREE by the SSC but are subject to availability and to the conditions to be met as stipulated. Please understand that there may be a risk that you may not get the tickets you requested.

Successful applicants for tickets will be contacted later in June for collection of the tickets. We hope to arrange a day and time in London for the collection of your tickets and a briefing about your attendance.

Thanks and enjoy the London 2012 Olympics !

Hello fellow members,

Firstly my commiserations if any of you have been caught up in or been affected by the recent riots. Secondly, I have a couple of journalists from the Straits Times and from MediaCorp who would like to interview any Singaporean in London who was affected directly by the riots over the past few days. If you are keen to share your experiences, please contact me at president@suka.org.

Thanks and take care,
Bernard
